The East London Magistrate’s Court has postponed the case against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema to Tuesday.
The reason for the postponement is due to the former prosecutor resigning last week.
Malema appeared briefly on Monday on allegations of firing a firearm at the EFF’s fifth-anniversary celebrations at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the Eastern Cape in 2018.
Malema faces charges of illegal possession of firearms, contravention of the Firearms Control Act, the illegal possession of ammunition and reckless endangerment to persons or property.
Malema describes the charges against him as a mockery of the system
