North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo has re-iterated that his office will co-operate and work with the Hawks when conducting their investigation into fraud and corruption allegations within his provincial government.

Mahumapelo earlier held a media briefing following Thursday morning raid by the Hawks on both his offices and those of the provincial finance department.

The Hawks raided the offices following the on-going alleged irregularities regarding an ICT company which has allegedly been awarded tenders by the North West government.

The Hawks say documents seized during the raid will enable them to successfully investigate allegations of fraud and corruption at different departments within the provincial government.

“We are looking at the allegations of fraud and corruption, just to say that we have been through different departments within the building, where we are seizing documents and we have found the documents. We will communicate with the media when we are ready about this matter, at this stage it’s quite delicate, so we cannot divulge further information,” says Hawks spokesperson Tlangelani Rikhotso.
