Mahikeng school teacher murder trial resumes

The trial of two men charged with the murder, kidnapping, rape and robbery of a teacher is expected to resume at North West High court Wednesday.

In their last court appearance at the Molopo magistrate’s court, 61 year old Headman Njokweni and 56 year old Sfiso Ndawonde maintained that they are innocent.

They were arrested in Johannesburg last October for being positively linked to the killing of Thulisile Ngwenya.

The two men previously tried to apply for bail for the case. the suspects also have previous convictions on their records.

The two accused are suspected to be involved in the disappearance and killing of fifty six year old Mahikeng school teacher Thulisile Ngwenya. Her decomposed body was found dumped next to a railway-line in Mahikeng last October.

Currently the court awaits DNA test results as well as their legal representative to familiarise themselves with the content of the trial docket. Ngwenya ‘s decomposed body was discovered by a passer-by in the bushes with multiple bluntly cut wounds.
