The small North West town of Stella is counting the cost of the province’s on going protests after its municipal building was burnt down in the early hours of this morning.
Local residents say protesters torched the building at about three o’clock. The local school has also been closed.
Stella lies on the road linking Mahikeng and Vryburg, which have both been severely hit by protests over the last few days.
Protesters are calling for Premier Supra Mahumapelo to quit over alleged corruption and poor service delivery.
