A 30-year old man who was arrested in connection with the murder of former ANCYL Secretary General Sindiso Magaqa is appearing in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate’s court in southern KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.
Sibusiso Ncengwa is facing a charge of murder and two charges of attempted murder.
Magaqa died in the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban in 2017, after sustaining gunshot wounds during an ambush.
Umzimkhulu councillors ,Nonsikelelo Mafa and Jabu Mzizi-Msiya were also wounded in the shooting.
Magaqa was a councillor in the Umzimkhulu municipality at the time of the shooting.
Ncengwa is appearing in court for the state to finalise the indictment.
