Madikizela-Mandela praised for her bravery during apartheid

Religious leaders have praised the bravery displayed by the late struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela during the fight against the apartheid rule. Madikizela-Mandela passed away at the Milpark Hospital on Monday. She was 81 years-old.

Members of the clergy from various denominations visited Winnie’s home in Orlando west in Soweto. The President of the South African Council of Churches Bishop Ziphozihle Siwa says Winnie has left behind a rich legacy.

“She leaves us with a legacy of courage.  We hope that many more will be born and take leaf from her preparedness to suffer for the sake of others.  We salute her.” Click below for on the story:
