Reading Time: < 1 minute

Deputy President, David Mabuza, will answer oral questions in the National Council of Provinces on Wednesday afternoon.

This is his first session in Parliament since returning from Russia where he spent more than a month seeking medical treatment.

Among others, Mabuza will have to answer questions around the violence that broke out in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng last month.

Parliament to conduct two joint inquiries into recent violent unrests: 27 July 2021

The Deputy President will also face questions from MPs about the explosion at Medupi power station where a generator was destroyed, what interventions government has put in place to stimulate the economy affected by the violence and looting in parts of KZN and Gauteng and how the problems at various municipalities in the Free State – where there are problems with the delivery of water – will be addressed.

Mabuza was out of the country during the time of the violence in parts of the country.
