Mabuza conducts oversight visit to District Six Development Project

Deputy President David Mabuza is engaging with claimants of the District Six Development Project who are receiving housing units as part of the resettlement project.

One hundred and eight claimants will be resettled as part of phase three of the project.

About 239 were allocated homes in phase one and two.  Mabuza is expected to address the community.

A total of 1 200 claimants are scheduled to be resettled when phase five of the project is completed.

Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Thoko Didiza says work has already started to construct the last phases.

Mabuza and the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Land Reform and Agriculture will meet later today following their engagement with the claimants.

Some of them have expressed unhappiness at the slow progress but Mabuza has assured them they are working to expedited the process.
