The trial of six men accused of the mass murder of 18 people at Ngobozana village in Lusikisiki will resume on Friday in the Mthatha High Court sitting in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape.
On Thursday, accused number one and alleged mastermind, Mzukisi Ndamase, who is representing himself, cross-examined accused number two, Aphiwe Ndende.
Ndamase and five others face multiple charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
During cross-examination, Ndamase reminded Ndende of the testimony of the brother of the late KwaBhaca politician, Mncedisi Gijana, who broke down and cried during his evidence-in-chief.
Ndamase asked Ndende why he did not apologise to Sisa Gijana after seeing him become emotional in court.
Ndende replied, saying he was waiting for his time to take the witness stand so he could apologise to all the families of the deceased.
Ndamase distanced himself from the murder of Gijana and of 18 people at Ngobozana, saying he was in prison.
