The Democratic Alliance (DA) has again voiced concerns over the negative economic impact that the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions have had on businesses.
This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation on Wednesday night on the amendments of Alert Level one regulations.
Among the changes made is the sale of alcohol at retail outlets is being restored to normal trading hours, and South Africa is being allowed to open up international travel to all countries, subject to the necessary health protocols.

South Africa has recorded over 742 000 cases since the start of the pandemic and 20 000 COVID-19 related deaths.
DA leader John Steenhuisen says, “This was an admission of just now much devastation lockdown has left on South Africa’s economy. The President realises this is not an option to go back to. It has caused huge harm and damage to the livelihoods of many South Africans.”
