The Constitutional Court is hearing an application for direct access by the Speaker of the National Assembly as well as her appeal against the judgment of the full bench of the Western Cape High Court which found certain provisions of the National Assembly Rules for the Removal of the head of a Chapter 9 Institution unlawful and unconstitutional. The Public Protector is opposing the applications.
