The Proteas have beaten Uganda by 52 points to 50 but have failed to advance to the semifinals of the Netball World Cup despite that victory.
The tournament hosts had to beat Uganda by 65 points after they were given a slight opportunity to progress to the semifinals by Jamaica’s victory over New Zealand.
The Proteas will take on the winner between Malawi and Tonga for the fifth and sixth spot playoff.
