The Monitory Policy Committee (MPC) of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) briefed the media on its decision regarding the interest rate, leaving it unchanged at 8.25%.
Analysts predicted the MPC will leave the repo rate unchanged.
The Reserve Bank’s decision comes after Statistics South Africa released data indicating that inflation had eased from 5.5% in November to 5.1% in December 2023.
