The Department of Basic Education hosts an urgent media briefing this morning on the progress of the national senior certificate exams which commenced a week ago. The department says while the exams went relatively well, there are concerns that have emerged and these pose a threat to the running of the national examinations. It says the department’s Director General, Mathanzima Mweli convened a meeting with provincial heads of departments as well as professional bodies.
