The Marikana massacre left many mineworkers dead.

The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) will be hosting the commemoration of 44 mineworkers who died during the Lonmin platinum strike on August 16, 2012.

The event will be part-physical and part-virtual.

Every year since the Marikana Massacre, AMCU commemorates the lives lost in Marikana.
