Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has urged all health practitioners to report all cases of listeriosis.

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says cases of confirmed listeriosis infections have increased to 727. He made the confirmation  during a media briefing in Pretoria.

Sixty- one people have been confirmed to have died from listeriosis infections countrywide.

Listeria monocytogenes is bacteria distributed in nature and can be found in soil, water, vegetation and faeces of some animals.

Animal products such as meat, meat products, dairy products, seafood and fresh food can be contaminated.

Motsoaledi has urged all health practitioners to report all cases of listeriosis.
