The Lions host the unbeaten Stormers for their second successive home game following their 27-20 victory over the Reds last weekend.

Former Springboks fullback and Emirates Lions last line of defense, Andries Coetzee believes that they have to be at the top of their game in order to defeat 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby log leaders, DHL Stormers at the Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions host the unbeaten Stormers for their second successive home game following their 27-20 victory over the Reds last weekend.

Coetzee, who made his much-anticipated return from injury in last weekend’s game, says he is looking forward to improving his game week-by-week.

The Cape Town-based Stormers, who lost influential Boks Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi during their 27-0 drubbing of the Hurricanes, followed their perfect week one performance with another beating the Vodacom Bulls 13-0 to go top of the combined Super Rugby conference.

Coetzee says they are aware how well the Stormers are playing at the moment but they are going to take it minute-by-minute in order to put some points past them this weekend.

The Lions play their second successive home game of the season and their last in front of their home fans for the next seven games. Knowing that they will need to collect as many points as possible before getting on the road. – Report by Thando Gqamane
