Limpopo police launch manhunt for seven suspects involved in kidnapping of four children

Limpopo police have launched a manhunt against seven heavily armed suspected kidnappers who kidnapped four children on the outskirts of Polokwane.

The driver of the scholar transport was left unharmed at the scene along the R37 near the N1 by-pass.

The children, aged six, 11, 13 and 15, from the suburb Nirvana, were being taken to school at Dalmada when a group of armed men travelling in two vehicles, a white Kio Sorento and a black Mercedes Benz, blocked them, forced the children off from the vehicle while shooting randomly.

Police say the victims’ cell phones were later found dumped at Flora Park. Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the motive for the incident is still unknown but investigations are continuing.

“The children who were being transported when their vehicle was blocked by two vehicles along the R37 road, next to the Polokwane bypass. About seven suspects got out of the vehicles and started shooting randomly and forced the children into their vehicles.
