Two men have received lengthy prison terms for raping minors in separate incidents between 2015 and 2016 in Limpopo.
John Chitlango has been sentenced to a 40-year imprisonment for the rape of a 13-year-old girl at Nwa’mitwa outside Tzaneen.
Meanwhile, Mangoato Serage received a 24-year-sentence for raping a 12-year-old girl at Marble Hall outside Groblersdal.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says: “The management of the SAPS in Limpopo has welcomed the conviction and sentencing of two men to consolidated jail terms of 64 years imprisonment for rapes which took place in two separate areas of this province.”
He says SAPS provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed and commended the members who took part in the investigations.
