The Limpopo Legislature is holding a special sitting in Lebowakgomo in honour of the late Agriculture MEC Joyce Mashamba.
67 year old Mashamba died last week after a long illness.
Mashamba is the longest serving MEC in the provincial government. She was also a member of the ANC NEC in the past.
A prayer session will also be held at her home at Mankweng outside Polokwane.
Mashamba will be laid to rest at her home village, Mulamula, outside Malamulele on Saturday.
The speaker of the legislature, Polly Boshielo has conveyed the message of condolences.
“Let me take this opportunity to convey our message of condolences for the passing away of one of our veterans in our liberation struggle, and a valuable member who served as the deputy speaker of this house and a member of the executive council.”
