In December, after losing four generating units, Eskom announced that rolling blackouts are on the cards this festive season.

Cabinet then announced that Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa would oversee the planned turnaround at Eskom.

According to Eskom’s spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe, two generators collapsed after being struck by lighting and another two
