The Kingdom of Lesotho has expressed its appreciation about South Africa’s role in that country. This is despite concerns from within the country that Pretoria is not an honest broker.

It has been reported that some within the country have also influenced some countries in the region to ask South Africa to recuse itself as facilitator.

President Cyril Ramaphosa, who was Southern African Development Community Facilitator in Lesotho, has now appointed retired Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke as his envoy to Lesotho.

Lesotho government’s Thabang Lekhele says so far they are happy with South Africa’s mediation.
