Protests have once again erupted in Lenasia south, south of Johannesburg. It is believed the protesters are against the removal of illegally erected shacks in the area.
Spokesperson for the Johannesburg Metro Police Department, Wayne Minnaar has urged motorists to use alternative routes such as the Golden highway.
He says the protest has been on-going for some time now. He says protesters are unhappy about the removal of their shacks.
They have barricaded Wimbledon road with rocks and burning tyres.
