At least 50 people have sustained minor injuries after strong winds caused extensive damage in the Vaal Marina area in Midvaal on Monday afternoon.
Paramedics say when they arrived on the scene they found rooftops blown off and power lines damaged.
ER 24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen says upon further assessment, paramedics found at least 50 people who sustained minor injuries.
Half of the patients were treated on the scene and a total of 25 patients were transported by ER24 as well as another medical service to hospital for further medical care.
The exact details surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities are on the scene.
