The Eastern Cape Education MEC, Mandla Makuphula has sent his condolences to the family of a Grade 12 learner from Pangalele Senior Secondary School at Ngqeleni Village who died in a car accident on her way home from school.
It’s alleged the deceased was travelling with eight other learners in a bakkie when it overturned.
The others sustained minor injuries.
The bakkie they were travelling in was hired by parents to transport the learners to and from school. Provincial Education Spokesperson is Malibongwe Mtima.
The MEC has despatched four officials, two from the head office and two education development officers to convey the message to the affected family and also visit those learners who have been hospitalised.
