A protest has broken out on the Roodepoort road near Soweto.
The protest is related to an attempted illegal land occupation at the weekend.
About 100 people tried to occupy land illegally on Saturday in Protea Glen.
The same group is protesting.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Lungelo Dlamini has advised motorists to avoid the area.
He says: “The Roodepoort road that passes Protea Glen was closed with the burning tyres this morning. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
The police are attending to the scene,” adds Dlamini.
