NPA to serve summons on Gupta linked companies

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Assets Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is expected to serve summons tomorrow on two Gupta linked companies Trillian and McKenzie.

The summons relate to deals the companies had with Eskom and Transnet.

The NPA last year applied for an order at the High Court in Pretoria to have the companies assets worth about R 1.6 billion preserved. The prosecuting authority was granted the order.

New ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa at the weekend promised a crackdown on state capture and on families that had benefited through corrupt dealings – at the expense of ordinary South Africans.
