The Gauteng Education Department says it’s aware of the photos making rounds on social media showing a former principal of a high school on the East Rand engaged in sexual activities.
The explicit photos show the former principal engaged in sexual acts with learners inside what looks like a school office.
One of the learners is wearing a school uniform. Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona says there are allegations that some teachers and parents were involved in such acts as well.
Mabona says the principal resigned in October 2017.
“We are very much disgusted about what transpired. You can see that those activities are happening in the office. We need to ensure we don’t engage ourselves in such activities in the working space. More so we are in an environment where we interact with children. Children must be protected at all times in our space,” says Mabona.
