Athol Trollip sees off Msimanga at DA congress

Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Athol Trollip has retained his position as Federal Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance. Trollip won the tightly contested race against Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga.

The more than 2000 delegates, that attended the congress, cast their votes at the 2018 Federal Congress in Pretoria on Sunday morning.

The party also elected Ivan Henry, Micheal Waters and Refiloe Nt’sekh as deputy federal chairpersons.

Elected unopposed were Mmusi Maimane and James Selfe as Federal Leader and Chairperson of the council respectively.
