KZN sees steady decline in new coronavirus cases

KwaZulu-Natal premier Sihle Zikalala says there has been a steady decline in the number of new coronavirus cases that are being reported in the province since mid- September.

The province is still the second highest province countrywide when it comes to reported cases.

Zikalala says there has also been a decline in the number of reported deaths.

 “We are indeed pleased to report that the province is observing a steady decline in incident risk. With regards to new deaths the number of new deaths received weekly declined by 42%  for week 39 and 40 a further 30% decline was observed between week 40 and 41. The case fatality rate remains at 2 %,” says Zikalala.
