Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of culpable homicide following the death of African National Congress (ANC) Provincial Task Team member Doctor Ntuthuko Mahlaba.
He died after a vehicle knocked him down while jogging in Newcastle on Saturday morning.
Mahlaba was also a member of the Provincial Legislature and a previous mayor of the Newcastle Local Municipality.
The ANC in the province has described Mhlaba’s death as an unimaginable tragedy.
