Police in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN)  are investigating a case of murder following a shooting at a Cato Ridge shopping centre in Camperdown, west of Durban.

It is alleged that two armed men opened fire on a 65-year-old man while he was entering his office.

“Camperdown police officers received a report of a shooting at a shopping centre in Cato Ridge. Upon arrival at the scene, the police officers found the body of a 65-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. It is alleged that the victim was shot by two armed men while he was opening his office. The suspects fled the scene in a getaway vehicle,” says Police Spokesperson, Jay Naicker.

Naicker says according to the police, nothing seems to have been taken from the victim.

“A case of murder has been opened at Camperdown SAPS for investigation,” adds Naicker.
