KwaZulu-Natal police have made a breakthrough in the murders of four children from Wyebank west of Durban.

The suspect, believed to be father of three of the children, has now been arrested. The three, aged four, six and ten were hanged in their home.

The body of the oldest child, a 17-year old girl who is believed to be the suspect’s step-daughter, was found later, hanged in a tree in New Germany.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says police are working on the case.

“The subject has been arrested and he was arrested in kwaDhlakeza. He is being detained in the police station for now. Let’s give the police 48 hours but he’ll appear in court soon,” says Mbhele.
