KZN police arrest three for Moses Mabhida violence

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have made a breakthrough and arrested three men in connection with the violence and vandalism at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban last month.

Violence started immediately after Free State Stars knocked out Kaizer Chiefs from the Nedbank Cup competition.

The three men include a truck driver, a taxi rank manager and a taxi owner.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the three men will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of public violence.

“The detectives from the provincial task team made a breakthrough yesterday when they arrested three men in connection with the violence that we witnessed in the Moses Mabhida stadium one if the suspects actually handed himself over late yesterday afternoon when he heard that they were looking for him the second suspect was actually arrested in Mbizana in Eastern Cape. All the three men are expected to appear in the Durban magistrate court tomorrow facing charges of public violence.”
