KZN man gets life sentence for aunt’s rape

The New Castle Regional Court in KwaZulu-Natal has sentenced a 27 year old man to life imprisonment for raping his aunt three years ago.

The Newcastle Regional Court in KwaZulu-Natal has sentenced a 27 year old man to life imprisonment for raping his aunt three years ago.

The man raped the woman who raised him from a young age, however chased him out of her home due to his criminal activities.

He attacked her one night while she was asleep and repeatedly raped, stabbed her multiple times, strangled and robbed her of cash.

The woman was taken to hospital in a critical a condition, while her rapist fled the province.

DNA has also linked him to an ongoing murder trial in Mpumalanga province.
