KZN coronavirus vaccination sites to remain open throughout the long weekend

The  KwaZulu-Natal government has assured its residents that coronavirus vaccination sites will be fully operational this long weekend. The province recorded 2 673 new cases on Friday and currently has a total of 407 720 cases.

In a statement, the eThekwini Municipality says that people who want to get vaccinated must register on the government’s Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) and present their IDs at various vaccination sites that close at 4 pm.

“The City would like to inform the public that the following COVID-19 vaccination sites are operating this weekend and on the public holiday, 9 August,  these sites are Pinetown Civic Centre from 07h30 to 15h30; Dassenhoek Hall from 08h00 to 16h00; KwaMashu Indoor Sports Centre from 07h30 to 16h00; and Moses Mabhida Stadium People’s Park from 08h00 to 16h00. Residents wishing to vaccinate must be registered on the EVDS system and carry their IDs to the vaccination site, “says eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela.

South Africa reported 13 652 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 511 178.
