Independent political analyst Khaya Sithole believes the African National Congress(ANC) stands to loose a sizable amount of votes in the next year’s General election, if it fails to sort out it’s challenges in KwaZulu-Natal.

Sithole was commenting on yet another failure by the party to hold an elective conference in the province.

The conference was changed from elective conference to a consultative one following a decision by the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Friday, cancelling the gathering at the University of Zululand at Empangeni on the north coast.

Sithole says this stalemate will have far reaching effects on the ANC in the next year’s National election.

“Some delegates rejected the Consultative conference, saying they were only prepared to elect new leaders.”

Meanwhile leadership briefed the media on Saturday afternoon, confirming that the meeting has been called off.
