Security has been beefed up outside KwaZulu-Natal African National Congress (ANC) offices in Durban ahead of a protest by disgruntled party members.

Some members are rejecting the Provincial Task Team, which was recently appointed by the new national ANC leadership to oversee the process of electing a new Provincial Executive Committee. The interim committee is dominated by members of the suspended PEC.

Two opposing groups clashed on Sunday outside the City hall, when disgruntled ANC members from eThekwini region demanded to be part of the meeting of ANC branch leaders.
