Kwaito star Mavusana dies

Mavusana was well known for hit song, Summertime.

The music industry is mourning the death of Kwaito artist Vusumuzi “Mavusana” Ngwenya. His family says Mavusana died peacefully in his sleep in Port Elizaberth on Monday at the age of 46. He was well known for hit song, Summertime.

SAMRO would like to pay its last respect to former kwaito star Mavusana (real name Vusimuzi Ngwenya) he was a member of the popular kwaito group O’ da Meesta.

Mavusana as he was affectionately known to his friends and fans, was a talented musician and was part of the popular Kwaito group Oda Meesta. He worked with other talented artists and groups such as Mizchief and Trompies.

The Ngwenya family spokesperson and Mavusana’s friend Bongani Ngwenya says he will miss his jokes.

“I was actually with him last week Wednesday. He was a jolly person. I miss him already.”

Mavusana is survived by his mother, brother and children. Details of the memorial service and funeral are still being finalised.
