King Goodwill Zwelithini's body will no longer lie in state due to COVID-19 restrictions.

King Goodwill Zwelithini's body will no longer lie in state due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The body of AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has arrived in Nongoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal but will no longer be brought to the kwaKhethomthandayo Royal Palace, as earlier announced.

This after the Zulu Royal Family decided against having the King’s body lie in state due to COVID-19.

The King’s remains have now been sent to a mortuary.

Royal family members return to Khethomthandayo Palace after fetching the Zulu King’s body:

King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu has been awarded a Special Official Funeral Category 1.

Details of the funeral service are yet to be announced.
