A suspect, who is accused of kidnapping a five-month-old baby at Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo on Wednesday, has been identified. The baby has been safely returned to her parents.
The mother of the alleged kidnapper brought the child to the Mokwakwaila police station in Bolobedu earlier Thursday. The 24-year-old suspect has allegedly admitted to her family that she stole the baby.
Police spokesperson Maphure Manamela says the suspect is still at large.
“A 5 month old baby was safely reunited with her mother after she was snatched at her home in modjadjiskloof area yesterday. Police have since launched a manhunt for the 24 year old suspect from mahloumeng village in the bolobedu area. Anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect is requested to contact Colonel Cecil Machimana on 082 451 7181 or contact the nearest police station.”
