The Gina family in eMamfene area of Jozini in northern KwaZulu-Natal is all smiles after their newborn baby boy was found.
The baby was found in Ermelo in Mpumalanga Province after police received a tip-off.
Boni Gina, the sister of the mother of the baby, says they are very grateful.
Gina says some people saw the mother crying on the news and alerted police.
“Since the child was stolen other people saw my sister crying on the news, asking for help in finding her baby. What happened is someone in Mpumalanga province contacted the police after they saw a woman with a baby. The police went there and found the baby.”
“They took pictures of the baby and the birthmarks of my sister’s child. She confirmed that it was indeed her child. Jozini police then went to Ermelo to fetch the baby. The child is now united with us his family, we are very grateful,” adds Gina.
The child has been missing for 10 days.
