Khoza’s ADC to contest 2019 elections

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The leader of the African Democratic Change (ADC) Doctor Makhosi Khoza says her party’s economic policies are providing a great promise to South Africans.

Khoza was speaking during the interview with the SABC’s Newsbreak Talk Team in Durban.

Khoza says her party aims to gain investor confidence and to address issues of unemployment. She says the ADC has different strategy to approach economic challenges.

“The reality of the situation is that South Africa is a small open economy operating in a global competitive capitalist economy.”

“For us to be able to drive and to be able to rise above the kind of situation that we are confronted with, we are not going to be approaching it from that exploitative nature of capitalism but we are going to be approaching it from that innovative because truth be told no investor will inject their money in an economy that is full of uncertainties.”

Meanwhile, Khoza says the ADC will contest the election in 2019 in order to bring about change in the society.

“We are going to be contesting 2019 elections and we feel that we are going to be offering South Africans  an opportunity to exercise their vote, they will be having a variety of choices. Currently there are so many South Africans that are not necessarily happy with the current political parties.”
