Kenya resumes international flights

Kenya resumed international flights on Saturday last week with the hopes of reviving its tourism industry amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

The country’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, however, admits this year is as good as lost.

Can sports help revive tourism? Kenya is hoping so. The East African nation has entered into an agreement with World Record marathon holder and Olympics champion Eliud Kipchoge to endorse Kenya as its tourism ambassador.

The country has lost 800 million dollars in tourism revenues since April this year with more than two million people who depend on the industry losing their livelihoods.
