Last week, Wouter Kellerman launched his new album, Symphonic Soweto, a Tribute to Nelson Mandela’ with the amazing Soweto Gospel Choir, at the Universal Music studios in Rosebank.

The event was hosted by Classic 102.7 and saw guests being treated to the recognisable sounds and songs of the gospel outfit, joined by the mellifluous sounds of Kellerman’s flute. Wouter joined Morning Live with Milton Dinixolo Ndlakuse Musical Director of the Soweto Gospel Choir.

Wouter cites South Africa’s first democratically elected president as the albums inspiration.

“We knew it was Madiba’s centenary and we wanted to do something for him. And we wanted to link the concept to Soweto.”
