Karabo Mokoena was killed in 2017.

The state in the Sandile Mantsoe murder trial hopes to finalise its case on Wednesday.

On Tuesday the prosecutor told the High Court in Johannesburg that the CCTV footage from Mantsoe’s Sandton apartment, the last place at which Karabo Mokoena was seen, would no longer be shown and instead still photographs would be exhibited.

The footage was obtained from Mantsoe’s Sandton Sky apartment the day Mokoena was killed.

The footage is said to show Mantsoe walking into the apartment with Mokoena and leaving the apartment that night to fetch a big dustbin.

Police told the court that Mantsoe told them that he used the wheelie bin to move Mokoena’s body to his car before burning her with a tyre and fuel, and leaving her body in an open veld where it was discovered.

Mantsoe is on trial for the murder of Mokoena who’s burnt body was found in Lyndhurst in the north of Johannesburg in April last year.
