KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to grant National Freedom Party (NFP) leader and former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi a Special Official Provincial Funeral Category Two.

The funeral will include elements of honors, and is reserved for distinguished citizens. KaMagwaza-Msibi’s funeral will be held tomorrow at Ulundi where Zikalala will deliver the eulogy.

Family, friends pay tribute to Zanele Magwaza-Msibi:

Zikalala says KaMagwaza-Msibi was an example to women and girls all over the country that gender barriers are meant to be broken.

“We thank the President for agreeing to give the leader of the NFP  and former Minister of Science and Technology  Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi, a provincial official funeral, this is important. It’s an honour to her contribution, a service she has made to the country but in particular the people in KwaZulu-Natal.”

The funeral service of the late KaMagwaza-Msibi will be held on Saturday at Mbhasobheni High School in Ulundi, northern KwaZulu-Natal.

KaMagwaza-Msibi, who died on Monday at the age of 59, was also the Science and Technology Deputy Minister between 2014 and 2019.
