Leopards chairman David Thidiela has already commented that they are prepared to listen to the offers for Musonda, also as a way of honouring him after scoring 31 goals in the National First Division (NFD) and the PSL for them in only two seasons.

The Absa Premiership top goal scorer with 16 goals this season, Mwape Musonda of Black Leopards has got a simple message for the desperate Kaizer Chiefs side, he’s waiting for their call.

Musonda was responding to reports that Chiefs is one of the team that’s interested in his services together with Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.

SABC Sport is aware that Chiefs scouts have been following the Zambian international striker, analysing his game and movement and see how he can fit into their style of play.

Musonda says he’s open to the move.

Leopards chairman David Thidiela has already commented that they are prepared to listen to the offers for Musonda.

The 28-year-old finished with 18 goals in all competitions this season and is also happy with the consistency he’s shown in the two seasons.

Interestingly, Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane who is also looking for a no.9 elsewhere, has warned Musonda that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

The former Zanaco FC marksman had earlier failed to make his mark at Orlando Pirates when he arrived in the country.

Through his heroics in the PSL this season, Musonda also earned a call-up to the Chipolopolo national team this year and played in the last African Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia in March. Going forward he needs to entrench his place in this team.

Over the years, Zambia strikers have always dominated the PSL, go back to Denis Lota, Collins Mbesuma, Christopher Katongo and the latest generation of Justin Shonga, Augustine Mulenga and many more.  Musonda knows that he has big shoes to fill. – Report by Velile Mnyandu
