Following the postponement of the State of the Nation Address President Jacob Zuma has had his public engagements reduced as the nation anxiously awaits a decision on his future.

The African National Congress says it wants South Africans to appreciate that the party is dealing with a difficult issue.

The party is referring to talks on President Jacob Zuma‘s future, which could be concluded on Saturday.

The ANC’s top brass will embark on another round of talks with the hope of clinching a deal which will pave the way for the voluntary resignation of Zuma.

According to sources, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa will meet with Zuma at his official residence to finalise terms of his exit package.

“We are actually guided by the statement issued by the president of the ANC on all our behalf, articulating the position of the ANC – one that says those talks are fruitful, are conducive and they are likely to yield outcomes necessary to move the country forward,” added ANC Spokesperson, Pule Mabe.
