Estina Dairy Farm corruption case postponed

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The more than R220 million Estina Dairy Farm corruption case has been postponed to Tuesday in the Bloemfontein Regional Court.

Eight people, including senior executives at the Gupta business empire, face charges of fraud and corruption and money laundering for allegedly swindling funds meant for emerging black farmers in Vrede.

Advocate Mike Hellens, for the accused, has submitted that an order by the High Court to release some of the Gupta assets was a clear indication of weaknesses in the State’s case.

Advocate Justice Bakamela, for the State, has argued that the accused concocted a scheme involving national and international transactions.
